Hooga PRO1500 takes the higher score here. Hooga's value proposition is simple: fewer wavelengths, lower price, same physics on the two bands that carry most of the evidence.

The counter-argument for the Hooga HG300 is straightforward: it costs $1,000 less. The honest budget panel. Single-chip LEDs, two wavelengths, $199 — and it does not pretend to be anything else.

Put plainly — if your constraint is budget, take the HG300 and put the $1,000 toward installation, which is the line item most first-time buyers underestimate. If your constraint is that you want to buy once, the PRO1500 is the one you will not be replacing.
