The verdict
Hooga ULTRA750 takes the higher score here. Adds the 810nm deep-tissue band that the PRO line lacks, for $200 over the PRO750. That is the upgrade worth paying for.
The counter-argument for the Hooga HG300 is straightforward: it costs $600 less. The honest budget panel. Single-chip LEDs, two wavelengths, $199 — and it does not pretend to be anything else.
Put plainly — if your constraint is budget, take the HG300 and put the $600 toward installation, which is the line item most first-time buyers underestimate. If your constraint is that you want to buy once, the ULTRA750 is the one you will not be replacing.
What each one is good at
Hooga ULTRA750
Strengths
- Quad-chip LEDs add 630nm and the 810nm deep-tissue wavelength
- $799 undercuts comparable four-wavelength panels
- Same chassis quality as the PRO line
Compromises
- Irradiance figures still not published per model
- No 590nm or 830nm
- Quad-chip LEDs run hot; give the panel air behind it
Hooga HG300
Strengths
- Under $200 from a brand with a real support presence
- Two evidence-backed wavelengths, no marketing spectrum padding
- Small and light enough to travel with
Compromises
- Single-chip LEDs deliver materially lower irradiance than dual/quad
- Small treatment area means long sessions
- No deep-tissue 810nm band
